The Onam celebration at the School of Management Studies, UC College Aluva,on August 24,2023,in association with the Cultural Club, was a resounding success.
It not only showcased the cultural richness of Kerala but also promoted unity and cultural exchange within the academic community.
The messages from dignitaries,Dr. Padmaja Devi A, the Director of the School of Management Studies, initiated the event with a heartfelt message about the significance of Onam and its cultural importance. Her words set the tone for the day’s festivities.The Head of the Department Ms.Janisben Bino also delivered a speech emphasizing the historical and cultural aspects of Onam.Several exciting competitions were organized as part of the celebration, including:Musical Chair, Uriyadi,Vadam Vali: A friendly tug-of-war competition,Sundariku Oru Pottuthodal and other engaging competitions were there. Students exhibited their artistic skills by creating intricate and colorful Pookalams (flower carpets) a creative display. The classrooms and campus were beautifully adorned with traditional elements, flower arrangements, and Onam lamps, creating a vibrant and festive ambiance. The program adjourned at 4.00 pm
The Onam celebration at our department not only immersed everyone in the rich traditions of Kerala but also fostered a sense of unity and cultural appreciation among students, faculty, and staff, making it a memorable and heartwarming event for all.
